Lloyd E. Willbrant

May 11, 2012 By eastwickpress

North Petersburgh – Lloyd E. Willbrant, 80, of Willbrant Road, North Petersburgh, NY, died suddenly on May 6, 2012, at his residence due to injuries he received from an accident in his yard.
Born October 29, 1931, in Berlin, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Edna I. Loker Willbrant. A graduate of Berlin High School, Lloyd joined the United States Army soon after and was honorably discharged. Taking advantage of the GI Bill, Lloyd attended and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. After graduation he worked for Pratt & Whitney in Windsor Locks, CT, a recognized leading producer of the world’s most advanced jet engines. He developed many patents for jet engines. He retired in the early 1990s after over 30 years of service. After retirement, he moved back to the family farm in North Petersburgh. He loved to travel to Europe, Alaska and extensively to all National Parks, and he loved to bring his family members along on his adventures.  Lloyd was an avid hiker and did whitewater rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. He enjoyed the mountains of New Hampshire, especially the Mount Washington Conservatory. A very generous person, Lloyd loved Christmas time, playing Santa for everyone. His greatest love was that of his family.
Survivors include his siblings, Robert F. and wife Helen Willbrant of North Petersburgh and Eleanor and husband Ted Stickney of Berwick, ME, a sister-in-law, Hilda Willbrant, 19 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and great-nephews and 11 2/3 great-great nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by siblings, Evelyn Burke, Harry L. Willbrant and Norma Willbrant.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning, May 12, at 11 am in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, with Rev. Trygve Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Berlin Community Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home for visitation on Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Washington Conservatory, P.O. Box 2310, North Conway, NH, 03860, or online at www.mountwashington.org/giving/.
