A Few Places Left For The Ken Baker Golf Tournament

May 18, 2012 By eastwickpress

The fifth annual Ken Baker Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, at the Hoosick Falls Country Club. The tournament will raise funds for the Coach Baker Fund which benefits the youth of both Hoosick Falls and Cambridge.
Baker was a physical education teacher and varsity football coach at both schools. He began his career at Columbia High School and started the highly successful Blue Devil wrestling program. He also served as the Director of the Town of Hoosick Community Pool.
The tournament will have an 8 am and 1 pm shotgun start. There are two 12 team openings remaining for both shifts.  There will be auctions held during the event. Auction items include a three day package to the Florida Keys, paintings by local artists, a 55 inch LG television, framed sports memorabilia, and dining, golf, auto, and landscaping packages.
There will also be hole in one prizes as well as a special fifth anniversary player tee gift. A chicken barbecue provided by Bob Ferrara will be served between 11 am and 3 pm. Contact Mike Baratto at 518-686-5916 or at mpb416@gmail.com to sign up for the golf tournament.
Everyone is invited to the after golf party and auction at the HFCC
Also, on Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16, there will be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament to raise funds for the Coach Baker Fund. Teams can be comprised of up to four players and will compete in various age divisions ranging from fourth grade through adult. Entry fee for this 3 on 3 tournament is $80 per team. Games will be played in the Hoosick Falls High School gym starting at 5 pm on Friday, June 15, and 9 am on Saturday, June 16. Contact Andy Nolan at 518- 361-5756 or at asnecc@csdsl.net for further information.
Please join us in raising funds for the youth of these communities that Coach Baker so positively impacted.
