Hoosick Falls Memorial Day Parade

May 18, 2012 By eastwickpress

Don Bogardus, Chairman of the Hoosick Falls Memorial Day Parade, calls all officers and members of all organizations, together with the general public, to please participate in the Parade to honor military men and women, past and present.
Memorial Day is a special day of remembrance for all Americans and, particularly, the courageous men and women of our Armed Forces. With American troops defending our freedom abroad and the memories of September 11 not faded in our minds, Memorial Day holds great meaning. The continuing courage shown by our Armed Forces around the world and the senseless loss of life on 9/11 remind us of the debt of gratitude owed to those who are serving and have served our country with honor.
The Village Memorial Day Parade will be on Monday, May 28, at 10 am. The Parade will step off at Key Bank and proceed down Main Street to John Street to Church Street, pausing at the NYS Armory and the Town of Hoosick Community Center. Marchers will then proceed up Church Street to the intersection of Main and Church Streets, at which time an Honor Guard from the American Legion will fire a salute in memory of all fallen Veterans. Marchers will continue down Main Street to Wood Memorial Park for a remembrance.
All clubs, organizations, schools, churches and all residents that have an interest in participating in the Parade should contact Chairman Don Bogardus at 518-686-5993 or 518-686-7407. Further information will follow at a later date.
