Living In A Supportive Community

May 4, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Chuck Riccardi
The Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank everyone who came out on Saturday, April 21, to support its annual Roast Beef Dinner and the spring open house. We served 301 dinners this year compared to 364 last year, but it was still a great turnout.

Hilltown Pork and the Beckwith family generously donated the roast beef while Kilventon Fruit & Produce donated fresh produce. The Heavenly Quilters also displayed the beautiful quilt that they are raffling. It was great to have young volunteers from the Youth-to-Youth program, Girl Scout Troops #1174 and #1752 and Boy Scout Troop #2222 helping out. Many thanks to all the local people who donated delicious homemade pies and helped cook the roast beef. It is great to live in a community where people come together to support each other. Thank you!
