Hoosick Falls – Loretta I. Loveland, 88, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. She had resided on Abbott Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Burnice Loveland, who died on May 5, 1992.
Born on April 1, 1924, in Bennington, VT, Loretta was the daughter of the late Walter and Elmira (Woodard) Main. She was educated at schools in Bennington. Loretta worked at several locations including the Thompson Mill in Bennington and Undergarment in Hoosick Falls. She later worked as a home health provider for Quality Care out of Albany. Her passion was her work as a home health provider and social worker. In her later years she spent her spare time as a volunteer at the Hoosick Falls Family Health Center.
Loretta enjoyed spending time at home, going to tag sales with her daughter and taking frequent trips to Bennington. When at home, she loved nothing more than visiting with family and friends. She was a member of the Hoosick Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin Loveland and wife Susan and Tom Jepson and wife Betty, her daughter, Patricia Mulready, and her sister, Lucille Senecal, all of Hoosick Falls. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Loretta is pre-deceased by a sister, Lorraine Smith, and a son, Johnny Jepson.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 8, at 11 am from the Hoosick Baptist Church on South Street in Hoosick, NY. Burial followed the service at the Hinsdillville Cemetery in North Bennington, VT.
Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation through the funeral home.
