Michael S. Walker

Petersburgh – Michael S. Walker, 54, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his residence in Petersburgh, NY. Born in Bennington, VT, on April 23, 1958, he was the son of the late David S. Walker. He was a graduate of Berlin High School. He is survived by his loving wife, Darcie J. (LeMere) Walker of Petersburgh, and his three children, Amber, Alicia and Andrea Walker, all of Petersburgh. Michael is also survived by his mother, Shirley Leonard Walker Carroll, and by four sisters, Kathy, Sweetpea, Woodward and Maureen Coon, both of Pownal, VT, and Kelley Greene and Colleen Manchester, both of Petersburgh. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is pre-deceased by a sister, Pamela Quidgen Walker, and a brother, James Walker.
Shortly after graduation, Michael worked on oil rigs in the Gulf off Louisiana. He then worked for several construction companies, most notably Rifenburg Construction and Harrison and Burrowes Bridge Constructors.
Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, 12138, on Sunday, May 27, from 2 to 5 pm.
Contributions may be made to the Cancer Center at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, through the funeral home.
