New Lebanon Library May Events

The New Lebanon Library announces the following May events. All of these events are free, open to the public and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• May 6 – New Lebanon Book Group – 11 am. The book to be discussed is Cat’s Table by Michael Ondaatje. Newcomers are welcome.
May 9, 16, 23, 30 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
May 9, 16, 23, 30 (event is on Wednesdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. Age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
May 10, 17, 24, 31 (event is on Thursdays) – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am to 2 pm. Meet other parents and care providers while your child aged 0-5 hears a story, then socializes with other children in an unstructured, educational setting.
May 11 – Dances of Universal Peace – 7:30 pm. Simple, meditative, multi-cultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music and movements from the many spiritual traditions of the earth. All are welcome.
May 14 – Community Drum Circle – 6:30 pm. Join musician and educator Allen Livermore for a community drum circle. Bring your own drums or percussion instruments or borrow ours.
May 15 – Natural Family Living – 6:30 pm. Support, encouragement and discussion group for families who chose a natural life style.
May 17 – Family Crafts Night – 6:30 pm. All materials are provided, suitable for the whole family.
May 18 – DBX2 in concert – 7 pm. An evening of swing music with the popular local jazz band featuring bassist Dan Broad, saxophonist Allen Livermore and pianist David Bartley.
May 19 – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the Library and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
May 24 – Community Film Night – 6:30 pm – “Stone Ruins of New Lebanon.” This is co-sponsored by the Shaker Swamp Conservancy and the Lebanon Valley Business Association.
May 25 – Family Movie Night – 6:30 pm. Showing of a current film suitable for the whole family. Call for title.
