On National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2, 75 hardy, enthusiastic people showed up despite the rainy, cold weather. Trail work support came from the Capital MTB, Grafton Trail Riders, Boy Scouts, Hannaford, Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park, Student Conservation Association and a strong group of other community members. [private]Our wonderful volunteers cleaned up litter, cleared debris, built new trails and improved drainage and terrain on many of the Park’s trails. Afterward, volunteers enjoyed a hard earned barbecue and raffle courtesy of our sponsors.
The Park would also like to thank all the businesses that donated toward making the event a success including Price Chopper, Brunswick Barbeque and Brew, Walmart, Tomhannock Bicycles, Hannaford, Edelmann Sales, Sam’s Club, Guiseppe’s Restaurant, The Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park and Dunkin’ Donuts.
