May 30 – The Hoosick Falls Police Department arrested Bernard Brown, age 33, of 24 First Street in the Village of Hoosick Falls on two counts of Failing to Register for Change of Address per the Sex Offender Registry.  The suspect moved into the Village from Vermont and failed to report his new address to both the Police Department and the New York State Department of Criminal Justice within the 10 day time frame required by law. Both Counts are Felony Counts. The investigation started when it was brought to the attention of the Police Department that an individual had moved into the Town who may have been required to register. Officers interviewed the subject, and it was determined that he indeed was required to register. The subject was arraigned and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
There is no Police Blotter as of yet for the period after May 30 because Chief Ashe is on vacation.
