James F. Sweener Jr.

Troy – James F. Sweener Jr., 56, of Troy, NY, passed into eternal rest suddenly on Friday morning, June 22, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of the late James J. and Ruth Snook Sweener Sr. and the loving husband of Dolores Joy Sweener of Troy.
Jim graduated from Columbia High School and had been employed at Sysco Company as a mechanic. He served his country in the US Marine Corps Reserve. Jim enjoyed watching the Food Channel and cooking, but he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Dolores, Jim is survived by his five sons, James F. Sweener III and his wife Rachel of Clifton Park, NY, Shawn Sweener of Troy, Justin and his wife Amanda Sweener of Amsterdam, NY, Andrew Sweener of Troy and Cody Sweener of Troy. He was the very proud grandfather of James F. Sweener IV, Logan Sweener, Ryan Sweener and Ayden Sweener. Jim was the nephew of Arthur and Janet Sweener of Alabama, Anna Girardi, Ella Sweener and Nelson Sweener. He is also survived by many cousins.
The funeral service for Jim was held at 1 pm on Monday, June 25, from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy, with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating. Relatives and friends were invited to attend and called at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 am to 1 pm. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Troy.
