Christmas In July In Petersburgh

July 27, 2012 By eastwickpress

Santa visited the Petersburgh Sunshine Seniors during their Christmas in July party. Since it was summer and there was no snow for a sleigh Santa drove his motorcycle (in dress) from his last stop on Mill Street in Berlin. Santa caused quite a flurry; Pearl Koch sat on his lap. After that he flirted with all the senior ladies and made fun of Walter Walters’ plaid shorts. Then before he left he passed out gifts. Marcia Trask was thrilled with her urinating rubber chicken. The seniors would like to thank Dennis Bagley and his wife Kate for all their support of this year's party. Photo by Mary Lou Walters.
Leon Duprey and his bride of 65 years enjoyed being honored by the Petersburgh Sunshine Seniors recently. In this age when divorce is common the Dupreys are an example of how to do it right. They have taken “the two shall become one” pledge deeply. Hope has lost her ability to walk so Leon is her legs, and Leon has become legally blind so Hope has become his eyes. Together they manage along in their own home with a little help from their friends. Photo by Mary Lou Walters.
