According to ERC Community Warehouse President Matthew Curley everything is still very much up in the air regarding a move from Hoosick Falls. So far no closing date has been set for Primax Properties to purchase the land and buildings for Dollar General. “Once we have a closing date, I will have more information,” he said. Tentatively, the plan is to move to property in Melrose, but that hinges on the closing.
[private]Inventory at the Warehouse is obviously far less than it has been in the past, though they are still accepting donations. When the move is eventually made, nothing will be left behind. “We will move whatever is left at the time of the closing,” Curley said.

According to its website, the ERC Community Warehouse is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors. It was first established in 1995 as a Special Project of the Eastern Rensselaer County Solid Waste Management Authority and was spun off as a separate non-profit corporation in 1997. The Eastern Rensselaer County Solid Waste Management Authority has members in the Towns of Pittstown, Schaghticoke and Stephentown and the Villages of Castleton, Hoosick Falls, Nassau and Valley Falls.
The Warehouse has long been a convenient place to dispose of still usable household items, including furniture. For many years it was a terrific place to pick up fantastic bargains, though prices have climbed in recent years.
Hoosick Falls residents have been able to leave broken and old computers, televisions and other electronic equipment at the Warehouse at no charge. Hoosick Falls Village Trustee Bob Downing said he is working with the Community Warehouse and local officials to find a convenient drop off point for such equipment so that it can

be collected by the Warehouse once the move is made.
