Investigation Continues Into Tragic Stephentown Auto Accident

July 13, 2012 By eastwickpress

by David Flint
Investigation of the tragic accident that killed 24 year old Christopher Baker of Stephentown on June 28 is continuing. [private]Yvonne Keefe, spokesperson for the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, said this week that no charges have been filed yet against the driver of the car, Brendan Hoffman, 20, also of Stephentown. Nor is there any further information available about any other aspects of the accident that happened about 12:50 am on Cranston Hill Road, including the identity of the person who, according to a witness, transported Hoffman from the scene that night. Keefe said that a press release will be issued when the investigation is completed or charges levied.
What is known is that the community is still in shock at the tragic passing of the bright and popular young RPI student.

Meaningful symbols of love, friendship and happy memories have been added to this makeshift roadside memorial to Christopher Baker on Cranston Hill Road. (David Flint photo)
