Lyle M. Scott

Hoosick Falls – Lyle M. Scott, 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at his residence on Rogers Avenue in Hoosick Falls, NY.  He had resided there with his wife, Mary Alice (Nealon) Scott.
Born on April 25, 1929, in Hoosick Falls, Lyle was the son of the late George and May (McMartin) Scott.  He graduated from the Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls and Troy Business College.  Lyle was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was employed at the Oil Company in Hoosick Falls, as a dispatcher, until retiring.  Lyle was a member of the Elks and Kiwanis, both in Hoosick Falls.  He enjoyed times spent at the family camp at Hedges Lake and puttering in his garden.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice, his son, Jay Scott of New York City, his daughter, Heather Peters of Hoosick Falls, his granddaughter, Jessica Case, and his sister-in-law, Leona Scott.  He is pre-deceased by a brother, George Scott.
Funeral services were Friday, July 6, at 10:30 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Friday from 9 am until the start of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Rensselaer County Community Hospice or to the charity of your choice through the funeral home.
