Margaret Pine Retires From The Cheney Library

July 27, 2012 By eastwickpress

On Tuesday, July 17 the Cheney Library Board of Directors recognized Margaret Pine on the occasion of her retirement after 26 years of service to the Library. Margaret began working at the Library in June 1986.

Margaret Pine in the Cheney Library holds up a thank you note. She was recognized for her 26 years of service to the Library.

She had often visited with her two children and had been borrowing books for years but never considered working there until her friend, Susan Hoffman, suggested she apply for a staff opening. Since that time, her friendly face and efficient manner have been a wonderful asset to the Library. Now that her children and grandchildren live a distance from Hoosick Falls, she and her husband, Burt, are looking forward to traveling together. Margaret will still be working from time to time as a substitute librarian. When asked what she misses most about her job, she readily remarked, “Seeing the people!”
