The Summer Reading Program “Dream Big – Read” continues at the Petersburgh Public Library for children, teens and adults. Everyone who signed up for the Summer Reading Program is encouraged to keep reading and recording the titles and authors of the books read. Also, all youth who signed up are reminded to stop into the Library each week to pick up his or her prize. There are a few more programs coming up during the summer.
On Friday, July 20, at 10:30 am everyone is invited to see Rhonda’s Reptiles. Come have a hands-on learning experience with reptiles. All the animals that will be shown have been handled on a regular basis, are used to people and are very calm. Rhonda said, “If just one person is able to lose his or her fear of these amazing animals, it is well worth the time and effort.”
On Monday, July 23, at 10 am pre-schoolers and their caregivers are invited to our Preschool Story Hour on Creatures of the Night – Owls, Bats, Fireflies, Raccoons.
On Wednesday, July 25, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm everyone in grades kindergarten through sixth is invited to stop by the Library to make a rainbow pencil holder to take home. All materials will be provided and a sample will be on display prior to the session.
Be sure to keep reading throughout the summer. For each book read, teens and adults can enter to win a prize basket which will be awarded during our final program on August 15.
