Rose E. Philpott

Hoosick – Rose E. Philpott, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. She was the wife of Ralph Philpott. They were married on October 22, 1944, and resided on Breese Hollow Road in Hoosick, NY.
Born on March 6, 1920, in Bennington, VT, Rose was the daughter of the late George and Elise (Boutin) Sausville.  She attended schools in Bennington and was a homemaker all of her life. Rose and Ralph were members of the Northern Berkshire Southern Vermont Camping Club. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls, and she enjoyed playing cribbage.
Survivors, other than her husband Ralph, include her daughter, Beverly Stearns and husband William of Hoosick Falls, two grandchildren, Doug Stearns and Connie Hoag and husband Ted, four great-grandchildren, Danny and Ken Hoag and Shelby and Regan Stearns, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose is pre-deceased by a brother, George Sausville.
Funeral services were Wednesday, July 25, at 1 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls.  Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 am until the start of the service.
Burial was at Hoosick Rural Cemetery in Hoosick, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the charity of your choice.
