Eileen A. Jones

Hoosick Falls – Eileen A. Jones, 69, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, surrounded by her family.  She had resided on Glengary Road in Schenectady.
Born on May 16, 1943, in Hoosick Falls, NY, Eileen was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Haussler) Merrill. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School and attended St. Joseph’s Business College in Bennington, VT.  Eileen was employed as a Teacher’s Assistant at Hoosick Falls Central School and later at Niskayuna Middle School.  She was an avid sports fan, and she liked golfing, crafting and antiquing.  Eileen most enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Melissa Jones and Laurie Dale of Sandy Hook, CT, Kyle DeGraaf and husband Kyle of Hoosick Falls, NY, Kevin Jones and Meghan Jones, both of Rotterdam, NY, her sister, LouAnn Sheffer and husband Ray of Summerfield, FL, her brothers, Robert Merrill and wife Maureen of Owego, NY, and James Merrill and wife Sue of Valatia, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 3, at 2 pm from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, which is handling the arrangements.
