John T. Gildea

Hoosick Falls – John T. Gildea, 84, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at his residence on Martin Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.  He was the husband of Irene E. Gildea.
Born on April 21, 1928, in Hoosick Falls, John was the son of the late Samuel and Letitia (Dinsmore) Gildea. He received his GED from Walter A. Wood High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean era.  John retired from Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls several years ago. He was a member of the Derby Club and the St. Stanislaw Society, both in Hoosick Falls.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Seney of Greenwich, NY, his brother, William Gildea and wife Betty of Cornwall, PA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Monday, August 6, at 1 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.  Burial followed the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.  Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 pm until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the Funeral Home.
