Taconic Valley Post American Legion Auxiliary Ice Cream Social

August 3, 2012 By eastwickpress

The Taconic Valley Post of the American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring an ice cream social on August 11 from 4 to 5 pm at the Watipi Building on Community Avenue in Berlin. There will be free ice cream sundaes for everyone.
The Taconic Valley American Legion Auxiliary is a volunteer organization whose profits from fund raising goes back to our local veterans, their families and the  rehabilitation program at the Sam Stratton VA Medical Center. There are no administrative charges.
The American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization. Through its nearly 10,500 units located in every state and some foreign countries, the Auxiliary embodies the spirit of America that has prevailed through war and peace. Along with The American Legion, it solidly stands behind America and her ideals.
The American Legion Auxillary will also be sponsering a flea market/bake sale/Chinese  auction  on November 3rd at the Petersbugh Veterans Memorial Community Center. Tables will be free for Auxillary members and $20 for all others. The fee will be waived for anyone who enrolls in the auxillary by the 3rd. The enrollment fee is $20 and the criteria is that one needs to have a relative who was in the armed forces during a period of war or conflict. Enrollment brings entitlement for many national and chapter discounts. A significant amount of the enrollment fee goes directly to veterans.
