Town Of Hoosick Donates To HACA

August 3, 2012 By eastwickpress

The Hoosick Area Church Association (HACA) food pantry received a donation from the Town of Hoosick. Keith Cipperly, Town Supervisor, thanked HACA members for the countless hours and hard work that goes into helping those in need in the Town of Hoosick.
HACA is a non-profit community-wide Christian organization. In December of 2008 the Board of Directors of HACA approved the purchase of the former Falls Federal Credit Union.  Since the purchase of the new building, over 131,000 meals have been provided to 518 families through the Food Pantry. The VITA free income tax program has prepared over 500 tax returns. Families in crisis have been assisted by the Emergency Program and the Back 2 School Boost program prepares 50-75 backpacks each summer before school opens for distribution to students. The Center has been used for organization meetings, summer music lessons, prayer meetings, Bible studies and youth meetings.
HACA appreciates any and all donations, whether food or money, to continue the success they bring to the Town of Hoosick. This month they enter the final fund raising drive to retire the mortgage.
To make a donation or for information write P.O. Box 1, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, or contact Diane Hosterman at 686-5310.
