Donna Margaret Howes

Hoosick Falls – Donna Margaret Howes, 70, passed away on September 4, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. She had resided in Hoosick Falls, NY, with her husband of forty-four years, Dwight R. Howes.
Born on December 17, 1941 in Troy, NY, Donna was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret (Holmes) White. She was a graduate of Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick and the Mildred Elley Business College in Albany, NY. Donna was employed as a legal secretary in Troy for John Sweeney, Timothy Folgarty, Warren Travers and Andrew Dwyer as well as Bernie Hart and Hal Gilbar  in Bennington. She worked as a secretary for CPA Michael Hogan in Bennington as well as the Bennington Collection Agency. She also was an active member  of the First United Presbyterian Church in Hoosick Falls. Donna was a Deacon, a choir member and a member of the T.C. Class at the Church. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, ran the Extra Helpings Food Program and was member of the Hill Country Cloggers. She enjoyed spending time at Hedges Lake and at Hampton, Wells and York Beach.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight, her daughter, Ann-Margaret Howes of Hoosick Falls, her brother, Kenneth White and wife Robbin of Hoosick Falls and her grandson Zachary Howes of Hoosick Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, at 10 am from the First United Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will
follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, the Grace Christian School or the American Cancer Society through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, who are handling the arrangements.
