A Photo Finish In Golf

September 21, 2012 By eastwickpress

submitted by Pam Hatfield
The Hoosick Falls Golf Team played its last home match Monday, September 17, against Tamarac. “Hoosick Falls had a victory, but it wasn’t like any other match,” said Coach Pam Hatfield. “After the first five matches were tallied, it was a tie. Player number six also tied his match.” The tie was broken by adding the scores of the first three golfers of each team in which Hoosick Falls won by one stroke. “Now that’s a photo finish!” said Hatfield. The medalist was Anthony Giamei from Tamarac who shot a 44.
Panthers Lose To Stillwater
Hoosick did not bring home the win today against Stillwater at Saratoga Lakes Country Club with a score of 1/2 to 4 1/2.  The medalist is John Hoin from Stillwater who shot a 42.
The good news is that Andrew Hoag and Josh Reveal both shot a 44 and received a sectional score and are closer to qualifying for the sectional event.
The golf team’s last match was Thursday against Schuylerville.
