Bertram P. Goodermote

East Poestenkill – Bertram P. Goodermote, 69, of Plank Road, East Poestenkill, NY, died on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, NY. Bert was born on the family farm in East Poestenkill and resided there his entire life. Bert was the son of the late Jesse and Esther Milhizer Goodermote and the husband of Elaine Johnson Goodermote.
Bert ran the family farm most of his life. He had also been a bus driver for the Berlin School District for many years and for the past 16 years had driven for the Averill Park School District. Bert had also delivered the Troy Record newspaper for 25 years. Bert enjoyed crafting projects, especially floral arrangements. Bert was a father figure to his many nieces and nephews.
Bert was the brother of the late Stanley, Warren Sr., Gilbert and Oliver Goodermote and Eleanor Teal and uncle of the late Nancy Ann, Mary, Stanley Jr. and Oliver Jr.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his nieces and nephews, Gloria, Greg, Warren “Buzzy,” Donna, Laura, Marlene, Gary, Bonnie, Terry, Cathy, Sharon, Elaine and Daniel, his grandniece, Erin, and his grandnephew, Nathan.
Relatives and friends called at the West Stephentown Baptist Church, Rt. 43, West Stephentown, NY, on Monday, September 10, from 5 to 7 pm followed by a service.
The family suggests that, if desired, donations in memory of Bertram P. Goodermote be made to the Mohawk & Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY, 12204.
Arrangements were by the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel Inc., Averill Park, NY.
