Charlotte A. Ellis

Buskirk – Charlotte A. Ellis, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls. She had resided on Jay Harrington Road in Buskirk, NY, and was the wife of the late Robert T. Ellis.
Born on February 5, 1922, in Boyntonville, NY, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Walter and Jennie (Brundige) Myers. She attended schools in the area and was employed in production at the Albany Felt Company. She also did housekeeping for families in the area. Charlotte catered parties, enjoyed gardening, oversaw the Groveside Picnic and was known as the “Mayor” of Groveside.
Survivors include her daughters, Barb Gifford of Buskirk and Mary Jane Eddy of Hoosick Falls, NY, three grandchildren, Carrie Goldstein of Buskirk, Terry Gifford of Pittstown, NY, and Kelly Gifford of Hoosick Falls, six great-grandchildren, Anthony, Max and Brigitte Goldstein, Riley and Sophie Hayes, all of Hoosick Falls, and Levi Gifford of Pittstown. She is pre-deceased by her companion, George Border, her son, Robert Paul Ellis, her sisters, Clara Sheffer, Ethel Schroeder, Shirley Decker and Emma Myers, and her two brothers, Harold and Clarence Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, September 25, at 10:30 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There were no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen McGovern Memorial Fund through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090.
