Firefighters and spectators enjoyed a beautiful pre-fall day Sunday at the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Muster and Community Day. Sunday started with a parade that started at the fire house ending at the fire hall.
At the Muster Field the Cub Scouts sold candy, the Youth Commission kept kids busy with a Bouncy Bounce House and the Stephentown Veterans had a carnival game where you pitch dimes and hope hopelessly to land on the center of a two, five or ten dollar bill. Sustainable Stephentown also had a table handing out informative material.

The muster competition got under way in the early afternoon with Michael Brown serving as announcer. Just to add to the excitement, the Stephentown Fire Department also responded to a rescue call during the muster. The seven Fire Companies competing were Bisselville, Florida, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, Lee, New Marlborough and Stephentown. Hinsdale had both a men’s and a women’s team.
