At the Village Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 11, Mayor Matt Monahan announced that the final study on the dissolution of the Village and alternatives to dissolution is almost done. The research is completed. The Mayor said the Committee will meet again next week. Two public hearings will be held. The first will be on Wednesday, October 10, at 6 pm. The report will be out and the public will have a chance to review it, and then an informational public hearing where people can voice their concerns will be held the following week. The date and place for that meeting are yet to be determined.
Anyone interested in reading the information gathered can read it by going to the Village of Hoosick Falls website and linking to the study.
According to the linked site, the objective of the study is to provide critical information for residents and officials to make informed decisions about the future of the Village. The Center for Governmental Research (CGR) is conducting the study. CGR is a nonprofit management consulting organization with expertise in government management, public finance and municipal consolidation processes.
Members of the Committee are Hoosick Falls Mayor Matthew Monahan, Village Trustees Jeremy Driscoll and David Borge, Hoosick Councilmen Mark Surdam and Louie Schmigel, Rensselaer County Legislator Lester Goodermote and residents Bobby Ryan, Joe Nuccio, Dennis Casey and Kendal Baker.[/private]
