John R. Dwyer Jr.

Hoosick Falls – John “Jack” R. Dwyer Jr., 64, passed away on November 30, 2011, in Kansas City, MO. Born on January 27, 1947, in Hoosick Falls, NY, he was the son of the late John R. and Eileen M. (Bogardus) Dwyer. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School.
After graduation Jack worked at the Wood Flong Corporation in Hoosick Falls, eventually leaving to join the U.S. Army National Guard. Following basic training and advanced training in Missouri, he remained in the Kansas City area where he operated Jack’s Body & Paint Shop for more than thirty years.
Survivors include his brothers, Robert J. Dwyer and wife JoAnn of Chazy, NY, and Phillip T. Dwyer and wife Vicki of Buskirk, NY, his aunts and uncles, Elizabeth Guiden of Hoosick Falls and Bettie Zilinskas and husband Edward of Cambridge, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 22, at 11 am in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO, 64145, or the Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, MO, 64137.
