Ruby Laura Pine

West Hoosick – Ruby Laura Pine, 95, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls, NY. She had formerly resided on Pine Hill Road in West Hoosick, NY. Ruby was the wife of the late Lester J. Pine, who died in 1973.
Born on the family farm in West Hoosick on May 2, 1917, Ruby was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Armstrong) Hunt. She graduated from the Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls. Ruby was a homemaker and worked on the Board of Elections for forty years as an Inspector. She also helped her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Ronald Seifert, at Seifert’s Auction Service.
Ruby was a very active member of the West Hoosick Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, member of the Gleaners Society and the United Class. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors are her daughters, Janet Bugbee of Hoosick Falls and Joyce and husband Ronald Seifert of West Hoosick, twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, a nephew and two nieces. Ruby is pre-deceased by a brother, Edgar Hunt, and a great-granddaughter, Laura Marbot.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 23, at 2 pm from the West Hoosick Baptist Church, 1349 Buskirk-West Hoosick Road. Burial will follow the service at the West Hoosick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Hoosick Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls.
