September 7, 2012 By eastwickpress

Keelaghan In Concert
The Sand Lake Center for the Arts will present James Keelaghan in concert on Saturday, September 8, at 8 pm. Known as “Canada’s finest singer/songwriter. . . a man for all seasons,” Keelaghan has received the esteemed Juno award (Canada’s Grammy).  He is acclaimed from Australia to England and Scandinavia with his masterful storytelling, lilting baritone and driving rhythmic guitar. Tickets cost $16 and reservations can be made at 518-674-2007 or www.slca-ctp.org.
Smartphone Photography Workshop
The Sand Lake Center for the Arts will present a workshop on Smartphone Photography with Jeff Perkins on Sunday, September 9, at 1:30 pm. Today, many Smart Phones have improved sensors, lenses and software that rival images from a good point and shoot camera. With your phone in your pocket, you can capture almost anything and not miss a shot. Perkins’ talk will focus on how to get the most from your smartphone, the best apps for shooting and processing and paths to get your images to print or the web. You can check his teaching photo blog at http://morninglightimages.blogspot.com/. There you will find many iPhone images and descriptions of how they were made.
The cost for the workshop is $5 per person, and reservations can be made at 518-674-2007 or www.slca-ctp.org.
The SLCA is located at 2880 NY 43, Averill Park. There is plenty of free parking.
