October 5, 2012 By eastwickpress

On Sunday, October 7, Brunswick Grange will hold its Agricultural Tailgate Sale at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds, Rt. 67 & 40, Schaghticoke, from 8 am to 12:30 pm. More than fifty vendors will have various varieties of chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, vegetables, plants, flowers and other agricultural items. Absolutely no dogs, cats, puppies or kittens will be allowed for sale. A donation of $15 per vendor will be charged. The event will be held rain or shine, and refreshments will be available.
The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County will be hosting an open discussion on showing poultry from 10 to 11 am in the show arena during the tailgate sale. Local poultry breeders, experts and judges will be on hand to discuss general topics relating to how birds are judged, how they choose a bird to show, what they look for when buying and much more. The class is free and open to the public. Young poultry enthusiasts and 4H members are encouraged to attend. They can build better flocks by learning from local experts.
