HFCS PTA Fall Festival – Fun For All!

October 26, 2012 By eastwickpress

On Saturday, October 20, the HFCS PTA held its twelfth annual Fall Festival and is pleased to report it was a grand success. HFCS was bustling with over 400 attendees and bursting with spirit with vendors selling their wares, kids doing craft projects, young and young-at-heart dancing the “cake walk,” a ghoulishly fun Haunted Hall  and everyone enjoying baked goods and food provided by The Lions Club.

The Mommy & Me Package was won by Linda Reveal; a Will Moses print was  won by Isabel McGuire; the Family Night Out was won by Matt  Gormley; the 50/50 raffle was won by Maggie Caron; the pumpkin weight guess was won by Hannah Rosenburg. Each of the 35 vendors also awarded door prizes.  Congratulations to all the winners!

The ultimate winners, though, are the students of HFCS and our community. The PTA is pleased that the festival continues to be about making a commitment to families and helping to bring them together with friends for some fun, to meet new people and to buy great local products. The PTA doesn’t raise a lot on this event because that’s not its purpose, but what is raised helps the PTA continue its financial support of classrooms and to bring special programs to the children and parents in our school district.
The PTA would like to extend thanks to all the local businesses and groups who offered their support, talents and products including Mind’s Eye Photography, Stewart’s Shops, Wal-Mart, Thorpe’s Pharmacy and the Hoosick Federal Credit Union for helping us out with the featured raffles.  Thank you also to Great Escape Indoor Water Park, Sarah Bushey and Lynn Steller, Maggie’s Beauty Salon, Falls Diner, Barbecue Recreation, Caricatures by Jenny O’Connor, Bianca’s Pizza and Peg Caron for the custom Framing of the Will Moses print for their contributions to our featured raffles.  Special thanks to the students who worked setting up and running the kids’ activities and the dedicated HFCS Custodial Staff. In addition, the PTA couldn’t get the festival off the ground each year without the tireless efforts of its many dedicated volunteers and the generous support of the vendors and school personnel.

Homemade goodies and raffles were just a few of the things that greeted folks when they entered HFCS for the annual PTA Fall Festival last Saturday. (Bea Peterson photo)
