Immaculate Conception Gardening In New Lebanon

October 12, 2012 By eastwickpress

Retired school teacher, Peter Morrow, has already begun to prepare the garden soil at Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish in New Lebanon for next spring’s plantings. Peter has spent his summer making improvements in the fenced plot where smaller parcels of land are offered to anyone who is interested in growing fresh vegetables for the home.

An avid gardener himself, he enjoys using his skills and knowledge to mentor beginners, explaining the basics of working the ground, planting, fertilizing and caring for crops throughout the growing season. He has added several raised-bed areas, flower gardens and a small field for corn that will be available in 2013. Anyone who is interested in using space in the garden on U.S. Route 20, on the Church property, can reach Peter through the parish office at 518-794-7651.
