At their banquet at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Tuesday evening, October 2, the Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club honored several members for their years of service. Dr. Martinez was recognized for being a Kiwanis member for 55 years. Herb Loretan received a Legion of Honor award for 40 years, Peter Martin for 35 years, and Larry Baker and Joseph Ruggiero were honored with plaques for 25 years. [private]Other members recognized for their years of service included Jim Miner and Bryan Pello – 7 Years, Roberta Breese, Bob Breese, Doug Buggee, Kendal Baker, Rick Tinkham, Marcus Martinez and Nancy Schneider – 8 years, David Blumberg, Malcolm Brownell, Gale Leva, DJ Tate – 10 years, Lester Goodermote and Dick Whalen – 15 years, Jean Andrick and Dennis Perry – 17 years, Gil Wright, Paul Donahue, Mariea Rousseau and Denise Martin – 20 years and Georgia Main – 23 years.
Immediate Past Lt. Governor Robert Loveridge presented the plaques to Loretan, Baker and Ruggiero.
Officers were installed by Past NYS Governor of Kiwanis International David Booker. They are President – Sherman Baker, Secretary – Gale E. Leva, Treasurer – Georgia Main, Past President – Jim Miner
Booker also installed Natalie Ryan and Brett Miner as new Kiwanis members. They were sponsored by Jim Miner.
The Board of Directors include Gil Wright, Roberta Breese, Robert Breese, Mark Wright, Malcolm Brownell, Herb Loretan and Larry Baker.
Also attending the event was Van Rensselaer Lt. Governor Harleen Hilton and members of the Castleton, Troy and Sand Lake Kiwanis Clubs.
The Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club is dedicating its new Barbecue Shed to Bill Andrick and Dale Lee. Bill and Dale passed away this year. They were long time Kiwanians who contributed to the community in countless ways. When the siding on the Shed is completed, a plaque with their names on it will be attached to the structure.
