Mountaineer Boys Varsity Soccer Splits Games

On Tuesday the Berlin Boys Varsity Soccer team defeated Doane Stuart 2 to 0 at home on goals from Jacob Mills and Cody Seel. Jackson Burhans and Zach Spaniol each had an assist. Sakan Sadowsky, Reid Rascoe, Cullen O’Brien, John Schatz and Chris Price played well defensively. Mike Reger recorded his fifth shutout of the season
On Wednesday, September 26, Lee, MA, defeated the Berlin Boys Varsity Soccer team 5 to 0. The first twenty minutes of the game was scoreless. Berlin had several opportunities to score and take an early lead but could not finish on their possessions. Lee finally scored 3 goals before the first half ended. Two of the 3 goals were scored from outside the penalty box.
Berlin came out strong to begin the second half, but again their scoring woes continued. Lee scored two more goals in the second half to seal the win. Andrew Zlotnick had 12 saves in goal for Berlin.
