C. Rocky Patire

Hoosick Falls – C. Rocky Patire, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at his residence on the Hill Road in Hoosick, NY. He had lived there with his wife of sixty-six years, Annie Marge (Macaluso) Patire.
Born on May 3, 1923, in Passaic, NJ, Rocky was the son of the late Joseph and Angelina (Mastajohn) Patire. He attended vocational school in New Jersey. Rocky was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He was a prisoner of war until the end in May of 1945. After the war Rocky started as a mechanic and continued in the automobile business for the next forty-four years, eventually owning and operating Patire Chevrolet-Oldsmobile-Buick Incorporated in Hoosick Falls, NY, for forty-three years. Rocky was a member of the Hoosick Falls Country Club, the Kiwanis, where he was a Past President, and the former V.F.W. and Elks, all in Hoosick Falls. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Rocky loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors, other than his wife Marge, include his sons, Edward Patire and wife Barb of New Jersey and Bruce Patire and wife Carol of Hoosick Falls, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rocky is pre-deceased by two sisters, Katherine Renna and Lucy Pickhart, and a brother, Neddie Patire, who was killed in the Battle of the Bulge, which began in December 1944.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, November 9, at 12 noon from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Immaculate Conception Church or Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
