The Cantering Cowpokes 4-H club took a trip to the annual Equine Affaire on Saturday, November 10. Leaving early in the morning, members Emma Woolley, Lindsey Oswald and Christina Shupe and leaders Betty Gutermuth, Laura Sicko, Monica Shupe and Amber Oswald drove to the Big E in Springfield, MA.
There were horses everywhere! Many breeds were exhibited as well as many clinics, seminars and demonstrations. The members came away with lots of information from experts in their field to use at home with their own horses.
The club watched the A.V.A. Friendship Team perform the basics of vaulting. The club was very impressed! After finishing the day with shipping for various equine merchandise, the club had a great time learning about all things equine.
