Kenneth A. Burns Sr.

Hoosick Falls – Kenneth A. Burns Sr., 93, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was the husband of the late Marjorie Burns.
Born on May 16, 1919, in Troy, NY, Kenneth was the son of the late Timothy and Genieve (Estabrook) Burns. He was educated at Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Philippines. Kenneth worked at the Gold Meadow Creamery in Buskirk, NY, the family farm and was a custodian at Hoosick Falls Central School until retiring. Kenneth enjoyed going to the Sunday breakfasts at the local firehouses.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Burns Jr. and his wife Jo Ann, and his grandchildren, Kristen and Bryan Burns. He is pre-deceased by a sister, Helen Hartnagle.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, November 27, at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial was at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. There were no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
