Hurricane Sandy Aftermath
Many Stephentown area folks are eager to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. A local group has asked that the Stephentown Memorial Library be the collection point for donations, and we are pleased to help. The group asks for the following donations: warm winter outerwear for infants, children and adults to include coats, hats, jackets, scarves, gloves, winter pants, flannel shirts, sweaters, warm boots and warm socks, baby items such as diapers, wipes, stuffed toys, formula and baby food, bottled water and batteries, warm blankets and hand warmers, money for gas and tolls.
The local group is coordinating with Capital City Rescue Mission, an Albany group, who will transport the goods to appropriate distribution sites in New York and New Jersey. Donations may be dropped off at the Stephentown Memorial Library, 472 State Route 43 in Stephentown beginning on Thursday, November 8. Please call ahead for Library hours, as goods must be received inside the Library during regular hours. For more information, call the Stephentown Memorial Library at 733-5750.
