Intrepid members of the Stephentown Town Board braved the winds of Hurricane Sandy Monday evening to turn out for a scheduled public hearing on revisions to the Land Use Regulations. Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt showed up along with Councilmen Bill Jennings and John Meekins and Town Clerk Stephanie Wagar. Councilmen Chris Demick and PJ Roder were off on another adventure. There was no public hearing, however, as no members of the public were brave enough – or foolish enough – to venture out during the height of the storm.
Hearing Rescheduled
Eckhardt said that since there had been no public notice that the meeting was canceled, he felt obligated to hold the hearing in case anyone showed up. The public hearing has now been rescheduled for Monday, December 3, at 7 pm, when it is hoped there will be no blizzard. In the meantime interested persons can read the proposed revisions on the Town website (www.townofstephentown.org) and leave comments with the Town Clerk or any Board Member.
