Three Vehicle Car Crash In Hoosick

November 21, 2012 By eastwickpress

Sheriff Jack Mahar reports that  the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving three cars  that occurred at 6:48 the morning of November 19 on Route 7. All three vehicles were heading eastbound in the Town of Hoosick just west of Babcock Lake Road.
The operators of the vehicles reported that when the crash occurred their views were hindered by the glaring sun, at which time one vehicle rear ended another causing the crash. A third vehicle then came upon the crash scene and struck one of the two vehicles involved in the first crash.
A 48 year old woman was transported to Albany Medical Center for hip and head injuries, and the two occupants from the third vehicle, an 18 year old and a 13 year old, were brought to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. The other driver involved in the crash did not report any injuries.
The North Greenbush Police are assisting in the reconstructing of the crash site. The condition of those transported to area hospitals is unknown at time of this report. The investigation is continuing at this time and pending the results of that investigation charges may be filed.
