The Board of the Town of Hoosick held its Budget Hearing on Thursday, November 8. The three Board members in attendance, Deputy Supervisor Jeff Wysocki and Councilmen Louis Schmigel and Mark Surdam, were ready to answer any questions. Only two people attended the hearing, and they had no questions.
An updated software program and a two hour training session with the firm that audited the Town’s books last year has given Board members a better perspective of budget issues and left Board Members more confident of the budgeting process.
As refurbishing/improving the Town pool is still being studied, no funds were set aside for that task.
It was also noted that money is available for highway equipment, if needed, and adjustments for those funds can be made through resolutions.
Copies of the budget are available from the Town Clerk during business hours.
As there were no questions regarding the Budget, the hearing closed in less than 15 minutes. The Board will approve the Budget at its regular monthly meeting which, this month, will be on Thursday, November 15, at 7 pm. The Board usually meets on the second Monday of the month but did not this week because of the Veterans Day holiday.
