Carrie M. Roberts

East Greenbush – Carrie Mae Roberts, 83, of Luther Road, East Greenbush, NY, formerly of Cabrini Acres, Watervliet, NY, and McChesney Avenue in Brunswick, NY, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Troy on August 20, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Carrie M. Hoffay Crandall and the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Roberts, who passed away on September 19, 2006. She was last employed at The Hoosac School in Hoosick Falls, NY, where she was a security officer. She had been a member of the Grafton Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher as well as Puppet Director, was a former AWANA Leader, a former Blue Bird Leader and a former Grafton Trail Rider.
She is survived by her children, Carrie M. Thompson and husband Lee of Bennington, VT, Joseph A. Roberts, Jr. and Debbie Romeo of Fuera Bush, NY, and Crystal A. Harrington and Ray Nelson of Stephentown, NY, her grandchildren, Shannon and husband Daniel Lyle, Stephanie Roberts, Stacy and husband Garth Maxon, Timothy Harrington and Patrick Harrington, her great-grandchildren, Darcie Lyle, Shelby Lyle, Christopher Campbell, Timothy Pollock and Liam Maxon, her sister, Pearl Koch of Petersburgh, NY, and her nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her other siblings.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a committal service on Wednesday, December 19, at 11 am at the Eagle Mills Cemetery in Eagle Mills, NY.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, NENY Affiliate, P.O. Box 13535, Albany, NY, 12212, in memory of Carrie M. Roberts.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted by the family to the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY.
