Anne C. Pappas

Hoosick Falls – Anne C. Pappas, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga, NY, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late George N. Pappas.
Anne was born on March 21, 1924, in Hoosick Falls, NY, to the late Daniel and Mary (Liporace) Capano. She spent the majority of her life in Hoosick Falls and was employed as bookkeeper for Delurey Sales & Service in North Hoosick, NY, where she retired after thirty years of service. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls as well as of various rosary groups. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, going to lunch with friends and, above all, spending time with her family.
Anne is survived by three daughters, Sybil A. Murphy and husband Eugene of Queensbury, NY, Karen M. LaPorte, widow of Bernard LaPorte, of Essex Junction, VT, and Sandra J. Hladik and husband Joseph of Wilton, NY, her grandchildren, George Murphy, Suzanne Benton, Renee Kershner, Tammy Weiss, Aimee Thomas, Justina Perriello, Joseph M. Hladik and Katrina Tierney. She is also survived by her fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Andrea Sinibaldi.  Anne was the sister to Evelyn LaPorte, Mary Jane Comanzo and the late Lena Sargood, John Capano and Joseph Capano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 22, at 10:30 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls.  Burial will follow the Mass at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. The family will receive people at the Church from 9:30 am until the start of the Mass.
Memorial contributions in Anne’s honor may be made to either the Arthritis Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, who are handling the arrangements.
