The Panthers’ JV Boys Basketball squad is continuing its 18-0 streak from last season under Coach Chris Fleming with a 59-28 win over Argyle. Mark Hackett (#32) and Justin Gaines (#11), return players on the squad from last season, took the reins and drove the team to the win.
The JV squad was challenged throughout the game by the Scots’ defense but was able to keep their heads and outscored the Scots by a 2 to 1 margin. Defensively the JV team needs to work on the boxing out to increase the rebounds and get right back on defense without prompting as soon as they make a basket. On offensive, following shots will increase their points per possession. Polishing the passing will reduce turnovers and keep the win streak alive and well.
All in all it was a fantastic showing for the sophomore and freshman team.
