Kyle M. Sowycz

Stephentown – Kyle M. Sowycz, 26, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, NY, surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. Born on January 29, 1986, in Pittsfield, MA, he was the beloved son of Ihor “Sam” and Marcia Stall Sowycz. He was a lifelong resident of Stephentown, NY, and was a graduate of Berlin (NY) High School. He enjoyed a career in retail sales and was employed by the Ocean State Job Lot in Valatie, NY, until his illness. He enjoyed volleyball, was an accomplished gamer and, most of all, enjoyed the special times that he shared with his family and many friends. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Survivors, in addition to his beloved mother and father, include his cherished brother, Matthew Sowycz of Stephentown,  his maternal grandparents, Phineas and Dorothy Stall of New Lebanon, NY, and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. Kyle is pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Melania  Sowycz.
A service to celebrate Kyle’s life was held on Thursday, December 13, at 10:30 am at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY, with Rev. David Stall officiating.  Interment followed at the Garfield Cemetery in Stephentown. Friends and relatives called on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, in the remembrance of Kyle, donations may be made to the Albany Medical Center ICU, 43 New Scotland Avenue, Mail Code 119, Albany, NY, 12208.
