Richard Martelle

Hoosick Falls – Richard Martelle, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at his residence on First Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. He had resided there with his wife Felicia.
Born on July 25, 1927, in Hoosick Falls, Richard was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Biondi) Martelle. Richard was employed at Cushman Furniture and the Specialty in Hoosick Falls. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Richard enjoyed gardening, playing bocce, playing cards and making wine.
Survivors, other than his wife Felicia, include his daughters, Caroline Timmerman of Cambridge, NY, and Ann Marie Pro of Latham, NY, his son, Joseph Martelle of Hoosick Falls, his sister, Filamena Martorello, his brothers, Sal Martorello of Florida and Eugene Martorello of Italy, as well as nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Richard is pre-deceased by a sister, Grace Massimilla, and two brothers, Frank and James Martelle.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, December 11, at 9:30 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Academy through the funeral home.
