Two County 4-H Members Go To Nationals

December 7, 2012 By eastwickpress

Two Rensselaer County 4-H members joined 14 other teens from across the State to represent New York at the National 4-H Eastern Roundup held in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exhibition in Louisville, Kentucky. These two members participated in regional and State events throughout the year which qualified them to earn seats on the Horse Communications Team.

Kerry Judge and Olivia Logue placed ninth for their individual presentation and their State team placed fifth overall at Nationals. Horse Communications is a contest in which members present either a public presentation, individual or team presentation using a horse topic relevant to the Horse Industry. Life skills learned and the experience of the National 4-H Roundup will be applied by both Olivia and Kerry into many other areas of their lives and carried into the future.  To learn more about these or other 4-H Youth Development Programs, please contact the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County
