Vision Of CiviCure Founder Rolf M. Sternberg Realized For Website

December 21, 2012 By eastwickpress

Despite the passing of Rolf Sternberg on November 29, the vision of the Founding President of CiviCure will always inspire its efforts. CiviCure is a non-profit organization created to support the revitalization of Hoosick through the active stewardship of its rich heritage and rural environs and the art inspired by them.
[private]Recently, the project that Sternberg and Civicure have been most actively pursuing is the establishment of a website for CiviCure. That site has just been completed and can be accessed via the internet at civicure.org. A visit to the site describes the vision and mission of the organization as well as its important accomplishments to date. Among these is the oversight of a $100,000 Main Street Grant that helped renovate many properties in the historic district of the Village of Hoosick Falls.
The site makes use of a wealth of images illustrating the riches of Hoosick’s resources from its magnificent farmlands to its history as the site of a key Revolutionary War battle fought in the Walloomsac district and the home of the vast international farming implement manufacturer, Walter A Wood. A page is also dedicated to some of the many artists who have lived and worked in Hoosick and were inspired by the community, including Grandma Moses and José de Creeft.
Sternberg’s infectious, positive energy for the revitalization of his hometown survives in his family and all those who have volunteered their efforts on behalf of CiviCure. His daughters have asked that those wishing to contribute in his memory should make a donation to CiviCure. It is possible to do so online using the website donation page at civicure.org or by mailing a check to CiviCure at P.O. Box 68, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090.[/private]
