A Stardusters Christmas

January 4, 2013 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
The men and women of the Stardusters Band looked sharp in their black slacks, white shirts and red bow ties on Sunday afternoon, December 16. They played their first ever Christmas Concert. It was held at the Community Alliance Church. Their audience was treated to new and exciting arrangements of familiar holiday music. Everyone enjoyed their terrific performance of carols and traditional holiday songs, with a “swing” touch. The Stardusters, made up of musicians from the Hoosick and Bennington area, is conducted by Bill Gaillard.
Alliance pastor Rev. Jonathan Youngmann welcomed everyone to the concert and led a prayer for the families and community of Newtown, CT. At the close of the program everyone sang “Silent Night” in memory of the 26 adults and children slain that Friday.
Refreshments were served following the concert.
